Changing from incandescent to fluorescent bulbs throughout our offices and hotels
Turning off lights, refrigerators and air-conditioning/heat when area is not in use
Replacing the linen every third day for stayover guests and after each checkout
Providing tent cards informing the guest of our towel/linen reuse program
Holding Monthly Hotel Environmental Meetings with our Environmental Committee
Shutting down sections of our hotels based on occupancy
Regularly cleaning the HVAC filters
Purchasing only Energy Star appliances
Operating laundry on 2nd or 3rd shift during non-peak hours to save on utility costs
Replacing toilets with 1.6 gallon toilets
Replacing showerheads with 2.5 gallon per minute showerheads, such as the Price Pfister 015-TM0K Eco Friendly Variable Air Infusion Rain Can 3-Position Showerhead
Utilizing office paper products containing at least 20% post-consumer recycled content
Ensuring doors/windows are properly sealed
Repairing or replacing drippy faucets or running toilets
Putting timers on pool and grounds equipment and storage room lights
Keeping extra blankets in the guestrooms
Monitoring and setting standard temperatures in guest and public areas
Regularly cleaning and dusting fixtures
Disposing of hazardous materials including batteries and bulbs properly
Instituting a recycling program
Replacing old equipment with new, high-efficiency equipment
Using ceiling fans when possible
Cleaning and adjusting dryer burners regularly
Replacing windows with dual-pane windows
Using environmentally-friendly cleaning products when effective
